Principle:- The Tryptone serves the source of nitrogen, yeast extract serves the source of nitrogen and vitamins, and sodium chloride balances the osmotic balance. The Luria Bertani (Miller) is used for the cultivation of E.coli. The robust growth of E. coli is necessary for the cultivation of microphages and in the recombinant technology studies.

Luria Bertani Broth – HX-Media – Hexa Biotech

Directions:- Suspend 40.0 gram in 1000 ml distilled water adjust the pH if required. Boil to dissolve the medium completely. Luria Bertani Broth sterilize by autoclaving at 15 lbs pressure (121 °C) for 15 min.

Performance and Evaluation:- The expected performance of the medium is liable to use as per the direction on the label when stored at optimum conditions and within expiry date.

Storage and Shelf Life:- Hygroscopic; keep container tightly closed. Store in cool dry place.

Disposal:- To avoid the contamination or propagation of any hazardous microbes the used, unusable or modified preparation of this product must be disposed after autoclaving or incineration after completion of task.
