Nutrient Agar – HX-Media – Hexa Biotech

Intended Use :- Nutrient Agar is used as a general purpose medium for the cultivation of less fastidious microorganisms, can be enriched with blood or other biological fluids.

Directions :- Firstly dissolve 28.00 grams in 1000 ml distilled water. Then sterilize by autoclaving at 15 lbs. pressure (121 °C) for 15 min, cool it to 42-45 °C. If desired, the medium can be enriched with 5-10% blood or other biological fluids.

Nutrient Agar distribute aseptically in desired and allow to solidify. Ensure complete solidification and inoculate test sample aseptically.

Specimens types analyzed :- Pharmaceutical samples, clinical and non-clinical samples, food and dairy products etc.

Performance and Evaluation :- The expected performance of the medium is liable to use as per the direction on the label when stored at optimum conditions and within expiry date.

Storage and Shelf Life :- Store between 10-30°C in a tightly closed container and the prepared medium at 20-30°C. Use before expiry date on the label. On opening, product should be properly stored dry, after tightly capping the bottle in order to prevent lump formation due to the hygroscopic nature of the product.

Improper storage of the product may lead to lump formation. Store in dry ventilated area protected from extremes of temperature and sources of ignition. Seal the container tightly after use. Product performance is best if used within stated expiry period.

Hygroscopic; keep container tightly closed. Store in cool dry place.

Disposal :- To avoid the contamination or propagation of any hazardous microbes the used, unusable or modified preparation of this product must be disposed after autoclaving after completion of task. User must ensure safe disposal by autoclaving and/or incineration of used or unusable preparations of this product.
