Buffered Peptone Water – HX-Media

Principle:- Peptone, serves the simplest source of the nitrogen, carbon and other growth factors such vitamins. Di-sodium phosphate acts as buffering agent, and sodium chloride maintains the osmotic balance. Buffered Peptone water is designed to help recovery of the sub-healthy damaged Salmonellae from processed food samples before transferring to selective medium. Buffered Peptone water has showed higher recovery of Salmonellae than that of the Lactose broth.

Use:- Recommended for enrichment of Salmonella from the water, food, dairy, animal feed, meat samples etc.

Description

Buffered Peptone Water – HX-Media – Hexa Biotech

Directions:- Suspend 20.0 gram in 1000 ml distilled water adjust the pH if required. Boil to dissolve the Buffered Peptone Water medium completely. Sterilize by autoclaving at 15 lbs pressure (121 °C) for 15 min, cool.

Specimens types analyzed:- Water samples, milk and dairy, food samples, poultry feed etc.

Performance and Evaluation:- The expected performance of the medium is liable to use as per the direction on the label when stored at optimum conditions and within expiry date.

Storage and Shelf Life:- Hygroscopic; keep container tightly closed. Store at temperatures not exceeding 30⁰C and dry place. Expected performance when stored at optimum conditions and within expiry date.

Disposal:- To avoid the contamination or propagation of any hazardous microbes the used, unusable or modified preparation of this product must be disposed after autoclaving or incineration after completion of task.

Precautions to be taken:- These microbial media are intended for the in-vitro use only. All the handling, experiments, storage, and discarding should be performed with the help of trained and experienced technicians and as per the established guidelines. The material should be disposed only after proper serialization by autoclaving.
